RE: How much you make from Domain parking / month
First things first sohil how are you? I just saw on news that there is flood in mumbai are you all right?
I would have to agree with you on "Different domains perform on different parking companies"
Testing and gaining the insight with the experience can be the best technique to get the maximum output with minimum number of domains.

RE: How much you make from Domain parking / month
I'm glad I have been able to learn from you, Sohil. And any newbies here have a GREAT advantage if they listen to what is being said. It can save them from making a number of errors that most keep making.
While Sohil doesn't want to provide what his domains are, there is no reason for him to. There are many, many keywords with high bid prices, and many domains with mid-range keywords that will also generate some nice income if selected well and then optimized.

RE: How much you make from Domain parking / month
getaddicted, i really appreciate your advice!
if you're not willing to share what your domains are (which is understandable), do you think you could at least give me an idea of what your domains generally look like? are they usually two-word phrases? are they all .com's? do you ever use dashes or numbers? are they all in proper english? are some of them typos of high traffic sites? most of my domains are adjective+noun.com and i'm just wondering if i have the right idea..
thanks again!

RE: How much you make from Domain parking / month

I will try to answer some of your questions and Sohil can comment and answer others (I have not seen his domains...).
- Are they usually two-word phrases?
I'm guessing they are one if possible, otherwise 2, 3, or 4 words, depending on what people use to search with.
- Are they all .com's?
No, Sohil just talked about buying 1,000 .info domains because they were just on sale for $0.99.
- Do you ever use dashes or numbers?
He mentioned not using dashes or hyphens, but I don't know about numbers.
- Are they all in proper english?
They have to be what people search with for the most part, and he has never mentioned domains that are not English words.
- Are some of them typos of high traffic sites?
Sohil?
- Most of my domains are adjective+noun.com
Like "BigMoney.com"? That's fairly common, but the main thing is not what you use, but what people use to search with.
The reason that search keyword phrase domains work is that if you search in Google for something like "ebay auction ads" Google will include domains that have "ebayauctionads.xxx" and "ebay-acution-ads.xxx" if it can and there are not domains/sites that are better optimized for those words. Keywords in the domain seem to be a "fall back" that is used to help fill in the search results.
A parked domain is going to get traffic mainly in 3 ways:
1) Type-in traffic - Someone types in something.xxx in the browser address box and sees what they get.
2) Someone does a search at Google or another search engine and clicks on a listing for a parked page in the results.
3) Someone sees a link somewhere else and clicks on it.
I used to think that typein was the only kind of traffic you could get with parked pages, but some parking services allows a little or a lot of marketing and promotion now.
I have a directory and over the past month I have started to see people submitting their parked domains. My advice is NOT to do this, if there is any chance that an editor is going to look at what you submit. Do it with search engines that spider (Like Splatsearch.com), but not directories. I just delete any parked pages that are submitted.

RE: How much you make from Domain parking / month
If there is no traffic it is not likely to just start unless people start searching for the keywords in your domain / start typing in the domain in the browser.
Are you doing anything to create (legal) traffic?
I have been posting to my blogs and including links in the text to my domains as I find keywords and phrases that match what the domain is about. I also have some links on some of my sites.

RE: How much you make from Domain parking / month
Hello, Sorry for answering that time in short as i was in hurry ;)..
And thank u nielsen for answering on my behalf...
Frankly speaking I have told many things about how to go and what to do. But Still some 1 or the other keep asking me the same question.. contly who got the concept could Capitalize....
I tell you somethings very clearly First... If you are a newbie or new to parking Just Keep 1 Thing in mind That you are not gonna make money till 1 yr....If you have good names with traffic thats another thing.. But if u have new domains and you are new here just take 1 yr with nothing..
See i see so many people say parking doesnt work, parked Domains should have good traffic and all those...They are right @ 1 point. But still there are many other things..
When i started parking i was Same like you all people.. But that time i also expected some money to get in and it took me around 1 1/2 yr to realy get going into parking till the time i hardly had few $.. When i started i just couple of names. I came 2 know about parking that time. So i started with sedo.. didnt made anything then i was real new to this thing and didnt even knew rules i just took oh yes we have a page with ads any1 clicks and we make money..
And that time people where not that much into parking and it was not that exposed.. Im talking about 2 2/1 yr back... So that time i told some or the other friends to click or something like that.. promoted the site. As i just didnt knew its wrong.. Then my account was banned. and that time i came 2 know from the email that such things are now allowed and then i started all my research..
See now u have so much of things here, parking is exposed so much.. you could learn and get things going in good time...But you need lods of research and many many things.. So i told u give 1 yr of time..you will learn many things. with 1 yr u will see some traffic going to your domains and you will have confidence..
People who start parking newly want to see $$ ASAP.. and if they dont they feel im not making anything people in forums say this is good they made xxxx.xx and all that.. So we feel why we cant and then we started roaming here and there ;).. Just keep it in mind it takes time........
Im writing all this things coz now i want every newbie to read all this things understand and i dont want any1 asking same questions.. Please Remember if you are into parking biz it takes time.. Any biz if you start you cant make lods of money it takes time and we also say 1 yr atleast to get going.. Same is your parking thing.. consider domain parking as ur biz as ur investment. As invested money gives back the returns in 1 yr.. good returns ;)...
1 yr is approx. And if you get success within 6 months or like that please let me know i will come and shake hands with u ;)...
hope people read all this now and then questions. I dont want to see people asking me same questions on and on...
do you think you could at least give me an idea of what your domains generally look like?
I will try to answer some of your questions and Sohil can comment and answer others (I have not seen his domains...).
- Are they usually two-word phrases?
They are two word phrases, 3 some are even 4.... For me It doesnt matter i know easy names are gr8.. but 1 word names are not easy to get..but still i have them ;)
- Are they all .com's?
Hmmm i have .com, .org mainly.... But i even have .in, and i got 1000 names from godaddy .info's are they are very cheap.. $1.21 a name.... Thats around $1100 i felt a quiet good investment... And you get good names in .info yes the value is less but remember 1 thing u get good names....
you wont get good .com names easily available.. and @ other extensions you will.. I have mixure of all of them.. But yes .com are the kings..
- Do you ever use dashes or numbers?
Hmmm i hardly have 1 or 2 names with dashesh in my whole domain portfolio.. I dont know y.. And im not sure if they work or not.. I just have no idea y i dont have dash domains lol..... And yes i have numbers in my name but only if it makes sense.. with keywords.
- Are they all in proper english?
yes all are proper english....
- Are some of them typos of high traffic sites?
I Just have few typos, And none high traffic sites.. Remember i have a habbit of buying new names, i hardly buy domains from auctions, forums or any aftermarket.. I just get new names new names new names. And none has high traffic.. And i dont care about high traffic. I always have 1 thing in my mind you can call me crazy or anything .. A single name of mine should get atleast 8 to 10 clicks in 1 yr.. minimum.. this habbit im doing from long... if i get that much clicks im through and i keep the name for next yr... and renew.. Coz i do real good research of keywords and i check many things before buying a name..
For me a name of mine should get atleast 8 to 10 clicks as i said and according to keywords i would make around $5 to $10 minimum. Approx.... Thats enough from a single name.. atleast i have made more than registration .. And every year @ time of renewing i take many things in consideration and kickout names which hardly had anything...
Remember 1 thing im not a biggie in Domain industry.. Im also lke you all learning always.. Only the thing is few things of mine works well to me and thts the reason i have a little success in parking ;)...
I dont have any job, nor any biz.. Parking is just everything for me.. and its the only sole income for me...
- Most of my domains are adjective+noun.com
What nielsen said was perfect.. Im happy he has understood what im trying to explain and he is the only 1 here who has been using it and hopefull he is seeing good results... That nielsen will tell u ;)
I have all my names excatly same with the keywords used by advertisers. Excatly the same terms what is searched in google and the advertisers use..
A parked domain is going to get traffic mainly in 3 ways:
1) Type-in traffic - Someone types in something.xxx in the browser address box and sees what they get.
2) Someone does a search at Google or another search engine and clicks on a listing for a parked page in the results.

Anyways I hope everything i have explained... And i hope every1 understand what i have said. plz just go on asking same things coz it takes time to write all that...
thank you.
